It has 9 nuclear power units under construction with an installed capacity of 11.356 million kilowatts and continues to maintain its position as the world's largest nuclear power builder.

The core equipment of Fangchenggang Phase II is “made in China”

Guangxi Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Plant plans to build 6 million kilowatt-class nuclear power units, once planned and built in phases. Among them, the first and second units of the first phase of the project are CPR1000 units, and the first phase of the project was completed on October 1, 2016. The second phase of the project uses China's independent intellectual property rights three generations of nuclear power technology - Hualong No. 1, the third unit has started construction on December 24, 2015, and is currently proceeding as planned.

As the main brand of China's nuclear power "going out", Hualong No. 1 demonstration project - Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Station is also the bridgehead for China's nuclear power to open up the international market. The Bradwell B project of the UK's new nuclear power project, which will be built by CGNPC, also uses Hualong No. 1 nuclear power technology, and the second phase of Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Plant as a reference power station. Units 1 and 2 of Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Phase I Project were successively put into commercial operation on January 1 and October 1, 2016. Up to now, there have been no serious injuries and the above accidents throughout the year, and there have been no incidents affecting the safety of the environment and the residents of surrounding communities.

At the same time, the Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Plant provided a steady stream of clean electricity to the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone. According to estimates, after the four units of the first and second phases of the Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Plant were put into operation, they have an annual generating capacity of 31.5 billion kWh. Compared with coal-fired power plants of the same size, they can reduce the consumption of standard coal by 10.12 million tons per year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions. The amount is about 24.86 million tons, reducing the emission of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides by about 400,000 tons. The environmental protection benefit is equivalent to the addition of 725 square kilometers of forest.
