Volkswagen's new energy platform with the fourth "power motor" attack

Volkswagen's turbine engine has been very competitive in the past few years. The classic TD gold power combination has brought the public out of the downturn, but in the field of new energy vehicle power technology?

There are already three different motors on Volkswagen's new energy power technology platform, and this week, when I visited the Volkswagen Kassel factory in Germany, I learned that the fourth motor will be mass-produced very quickly. So which model is this new power motor used for? There is no hint for the public, but some clues can be guessed.

First of all, let's start with the three power motors that are currently in mass production. The first is the EAQ210. This power motor is used on the e-UP with an output of 60 kW (80 hp) and a peak torque of 210 Nm. The second is the EAQ 270, which is used on the electric version of Golf. The output is 85 kW (114 Horsepower), peak torque of 270 Nm; third is DQ400e, output power 80 kW (107 hp), peak torque of 400 Nm, which is a high-performance motor and is the only one used by Volkswagen for its plug-in hybrids. Powered motors, these models include Golf GTE, Passat GTE and Audi A3 e-Tron.

Some people think it is the Audi Q5, but so far, Audi has only a larger Q7 plug-in hybrid version, but in fact, the power motor for the Q7 plug-in hybrid version is not this one. In addition, this motor is somewhat different from other motor naming methods. The actual output is 500 Nm, but the naming method is 382. This is worth noting.

At the Detroit Auto Show, according to Volkswagen's official spokesman Stackmann: This power motor will be used in an all-wheel-drive plug-in hybrid. Therefore, on the whole, many people speculate that it is the Tie GTE that will be mass-produced.

However, according to the author's remarks, Volkswagen's new energy vehicle power motor naming method may be like this. The EAQ series motors are used in Volkswagen pure electric vehicles, and the D series plus tails e are used in plug-in hybrid vehicles. The “Q” refers to the Volkswagen “MQB” platform model and the “L” refers to the Volkswagen “MLB” platform model.
